Yvonne and Mike

"Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost.” This J.R.R. Tolkien quote from THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS is one of Mike's favorites. In that spirit, we often get out and just wander. Sometimes we wander down a rural gravel road and sometimes we wander around the globe. About a third of the time, I am lost…well, let’s just say not always cognizant of my current location. I don’t make left turns, which should really not be all that complicated...a couple of right turns and a person should be right back on track. However, I am easily distracted and quickly enthralled. The “quirky” or the old and forgotten capture my attention in a heartbeat. I’m distracted by the mosaic tile that spelled out the store's name in the entrance to a drugstore that has been closed for decades, or a stone bench in a park, created by the WPA during the Great Depression. I take photographs and buy “stuff” that speaks to me. And apparently, from the eclectic assortment of “stuff” in our house, I’m conversant in numerous languages. So if you want to join us and tag along on some of our wanderings, WELCOME to the sojourn of Yvonne, Mike and Sophie, the little white dog.
